ashmei & Puddingstone Distillery pair up to launch Domestique Gin

ashmei have joined forces with award winning Puddingstone Distillery to create a gin whose botanicals are steeped not only in alcohol but the very spirit of cycling.
Domestique Gin is influenced by the locations of the world’s greatest cycling tours, with the team at Puddingstone Distillery selecting, alongside more commonplace botanicals, Spanish orange, French hops, Belgian Angelica, Italian rosemary and Californian raisins. As a nod to the locality of both businesses, the inclusion of Chiltern rosehip, foraged from the estate on which ashmei are based, brings a key profile to this beautiful gin.

Ben Marston, Master Distiller at Puddingstone, commented: “I’ve been spinning the pedals for many years, so the opportunity to create a gin that aligns with the timeless pursuit of cycling is a natural extension of our spirit of the outdoors ethos.”

Combining both traditional pot and vapour distillation processes, Domestique leads with a fruity, citrus and juniper nose and a subtle palate that blends sweet and savoury. Post ride Martini anyone? As befitting of such a spirit, it is offered in a custom engraved stainless steel bidon, which of course can adorn, with equal grace, either your drinks cabinet, or once emptied, your favourite bicycle.

Stuart Brooke, founder of ashmei, said: “Gin is my go-to spirit and I have been an avid fan of Puddingstone, my local distillery, since they launched. Knowing Ben is a keen cyclist we often end up talking about cycling and therefore a collaboration based on our passion (Gin & Velo) made perfect sense.”

The limited run 50cl gin will be available to buy exclusively at
