New Moss Colourway now available for Pre-Order, delivery for April 20th.
Approaching from the north from La Chambre via Col du Glandon, the location of the Croix De Fer is marked by a gruelling ascent and a 22.7km ride that averages 7.0%. When the rider summits the stage they are presented with a spectacular view of the famous iron cross. New for 2017 is a race-inspired Jersey with more than a little doff of the cap to the Tour De France. The Croix De Fer Jersey is a short sleeve silhouette finished with an iron cross reflective graphic in our luxurious MERINO+CARBON blend.
The Jersey is available late summer to coincide with the world’s most famous Grand Tours. The Croix De Fer itself is an icon of the Tour, having featured 16 times since 1947. Graphically represented at the front of the Jersey, a repeat series of Croix de Fer icons form the front chest stripe, while the co-ordinates are also marked subtly on the rear pocket as part of the signature ashmei rear stripe.
Fit for any pro rider, the high-performance fabric is second to none in terms of regulating body temperature. On a practical front, three rear stowage pockets plus a zipped security pocket provide ample storage needs. The Jersey boasts superfine Merino wool as it is peerless in performance terms. The addition of carbon to the blend allows the fabric to wick moisture 10x faster than regular Merino and helps it dry twice as fast.
ashmei founder Stuart says: “I wanted to honour a legend of the Tour and the Croix de Fer remains on my personal bucket list of epic rides. Hopefully our customers will appreciate the little touches such as the Croix De Fer map co-ordinates, which are marked subtly on the rear pocket.”
