No item of clothing is more crucial to a cyclist than a pair of bib shorts. Worn each time you ride, as a minimum they should insulate against shocks from the road while keeping you feeling fresh. Pushing well beyond this, ashmei has tailored each component in our Signature Bib Shorts to ensure they outperform your every possible expectation.

This begins with the fabric. To create our compressive race fit we started by designing a bespoke material to provide both freedom of movement and comfort.

Containing a high degree of elastane, our exclusive Bib Short Fabric now allows us to impart fatigue-reducing support via a material that remains both flexible and breathable. Woven rather than knitted, this construction also lets us tailor our shorts from a minimum number of panels, resulting in a closer fit and removing possible sources of irritation. Just as unique in its ability to be laser cut, this allows our shorts to do without constrictive banded cuffs, further slimming their silhouette and reducing unwanted pressure.

Wherever the road takes you

Designed for riding in warmer conditions, the close weave of our Bib Short Fabric nevertheless offers useful wind-resistance. Blocking unwanted chills across the front of the shorts, we’ve also added protection from the rain via a durable water-resistant treatment.

Along with their fabric, our short’s padding forms another key line of defence. The main interface between rider and bicycle, this area needs to support the wearer while insulating from discomfort caused by pressure and vibration.

Created for us in Italy, our bespoke high-density foam chamois is tailored to provide long-haul comfort. Based around a dense closed-cell foam centre, this delivers lasting support across a range of conditions. Ensuring plushness from the first pedal stroke, this is then overlaid with a thinner and more flexible open cell structure. Integrated into the shorts via the smoothest of transitions, it’s a combination capable of absorbing the most bruising vibrations, whether you ride for a single hour or the entire day.

Finishing touches are not neglected either. Continuing the flush fit right to the top, our wide straps are designed to spread their load comfortably across your shoulders. Stretching only in the direction desired, this ensures they sit flat against the skin without the risk of twisting. Signed off with reflective detailing to add both visibility and flair, our bib shorts promise to be an essential companion on any ride.
