High animal welfare, Woolmark certified

Natural, renewable and biodegradable, our belief in the qualities of Merino wool was one of the drivers for the founding of ashmei.

In contrast to synthetics, Merino is an active fibre that reacts to changes in the body’s temperature, keeping the wearer comfortable. Depending on the purpose, Merino can be used on its own, or combined with other performance fibres to make a hybrid blend that gives the best of both worlds, like our Merino + Carbon fabric.

But beyond the performance benefits, where the fabric comes from matters. We will not compromise on sustainable sourcing for our products - our design philosophy holds sway from start to finish. Our Merino wool, which bears the Woolmark logo, is sourced from Australia and New Zealand farms which have the highest standards of animal welfare.

These farms operate non-mulesing practices to ensure the standards are upheld and certified by The Woolmark Company. The independent testing of yarns, fabrics and garments give an independent certification of the quality and responsibility of our products so that you can enjoy your apparel safe in the knowledge that it has been created in the most ethical way possible.
